Today, you will be flying to Lukla, the gateway to Everest adventures. You will be dropped to the domestic airport for an early flight to Lukla. The short flight presents us with attractive views of the mountain peaks. From Lukla, you will make your way to Phakding, a beautiful settlement situated at the edge of Khumbu’s Dudh Koshi River Valley. Along the way, you can catch an amazing glimpse of the Kusum Kanguru Peak and other equally petrifying mountains.

We take the trail north up the Benkar valley, passing by a lovely pine grove. The entrance to Everest National Park is Monjo, which we reach after crossing the Dudh Koshi River and continuing past Chumoa. Later, after passing through Jorsale hamlet and a suspension bridge, we continue to walk alongside the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. We ascend steeply to reach Namche Bazaar, the principal hub of the Sherpa culture. If the weather is favorable, we can see Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse before arriving at Namche Bazaar.

Frequently asked questions

The ideal time to undertake the Everest Gokyo Lake trek is during the pre-monsoon season from March to May and the post-monsoon season from late September to December. While it is still possible to complete this trek during February and early September, the recommended time frame is during the previously mentioned months.

We take pride in offering guaranteed trips that will run as planned, even if other trekkers cancel their reservations. This is what sets us apart from other agencies that may cancel entire trips a month or even a week before the scheduled departure date. As a tailor-made company, the number of participants does not impact our operations. If your trip has been canceled by another operator and you find yourself feeling stressed at the last minute, we are here to assist you in making arrangements for your trek. Rest assured that you can book your holiday with us without fear of cancellations unless we are faced with circumstances beyond our control such as political unrest, natural disasters, pandemics, epidemics, or severe weather conditions. We guarantee that our trips will run as planned, and we are committed to providing you with a stress-free experience.

The Everest Gokyo Lake trek is a lodge-to-lodge experience, meaning that instead of camping in tents like many other climbing adventures, you will be staying at teahouses or lodges. While this may not be as chilly an experience as camping, it's still important to be adequately prepared with appropriate clothing. To ensure that you have everything you need, please refer to our comprehensive clothing packing list designed specifically for the Everest Base Camp trek.

Ensuring adequate rest and relaxation is crucial for facing the challenges of the next day, particularly after a strenuous hike. To ensure your comfort, we make sure to reserve the finest lodge accommodations, featuring rooms with two beds and western-style toilet facilities. The beds will be well-maintained and comfortable, complete with an electric blanket (when possible), and an attached bathroom will be provided for most nights. Generally, the temperature of the room will be kept at around 10-12°C / 50-53.6°F.
